EFAA relies on generous support from our community to keep our food bank and housing programs going. Last year EFAA distributed more than $3 million in food and personal care items to families. With your help we will have food and personal care items on the shelves of our food bank and housing supplies for our new housing participants.

Donation F.A.Q.
Can I donate furniture, clothing, or used household goods to EFAA?
EFAA does not accept furniture, clothing, or used household goods, appliances, or personal items. We partner with other local service providers to supply vouchers to our participants so they can secure what they need. Please consider donating your items to partner agencies, such as Goodwill Donation Center or TRU Hospice Thrift Shop (303-604-5353).
Can you take food past the expiration date?
We accept canned and shelf-stable foods up to one year past the expiration date. Food needs to be in unopened packaging with ingredients labeling. Perishable foods, such as dairy and eggs, should be donated before the expiration date. Fresh produce should be in good condition.
Do I need to make an appointment to drop off my donations?
Not if you drop off during our donations hours, M-F 8:30am-11:30am. If you are unable to drop off within those hours, please email foodbank@efaa.org or call us at 303.951.7667 to make an appointment.
Can I donate toys to children during the holidays?
Each holiday season EFAA helps hundreds of families with new gifts for their children and teens. Visit our Holiday Giving page for information on how to participate.
Do you prefer cash or item donations?
Both are critical to sustaining our mission. Unrestricted cash donations allow EFAA to direct resources where they are needed most. Donations of food and goods quickly restocks our shelves and provides much valued variety.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes. EFAA is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization. Our Tax ID/EIN is 84-0454115. For food and goods donations, it is the donor’s responsibility to assign the value of their donation. Donors are encouraged to retain their receipts for tax purposes.
