Since 1918, EFAA has been the community safety net for families who have nowhere else to turn when they can't meet their basic needs. In Boulder and Broomfield Counties, we provide support to families, people with disabilities, and seniors by providing assistance with:
To provide these services, we have two programs: Basic Needs and Shelter.
In all cases, EFAA caseworkers or volunteer in-take workers, evaluate the needs of our clients and deliver and coordinate support.
Clients must qualify for these services by first calling 303-442-3042 to make an appointment with a caseworker.

EFAA offers groceries from our main office in Boulder on Yarmouth Avenue. In FY10, over 4,000 families visited our food bank.

Since 1979 EFAA has operated shelters for families in our community. In 2010, we sheltered 388 individuals, representing 121 households, including 193 children.

When a client’s need for help to pay rent is identified during the in-take interview, a caseworker will arrange partial rent payment, paid directly to the client’s landlord.

When a client’s need for help with transportation is identified during an in-take interview or a drop-in visit, a caseworker can provide bus tokens. Bus tokens are the primary form of transportation assistance provided.
